Wedding at The Ashes Barns
Bethan and Tom’s wedding at The Ashes
I was made up when Bethan and Tom asked me to be their photographer at their wedding at The Ashes Barns in Staffordshire. The Ashes is a venue I’ve worked a many times before, particularly this year. A lovely rustic, barn conversion wedding venue that’s gorgeous in all seasons.
Barn wedding venues
Barn weddings are very popular these days and tend to attract relaxed couples looking to have a more laid back approach to their wedding. This was certainly true for Bethan and Tom, the guys did’t care about boring traditions like cake cutting when their time coulee be better spend dancing with friends. The whole day was relaxed with minimal formal photos and the emphasis being on having a good time.
When I arrived Bethan was getting ready in The Old dairy. This is the venues purpose built bridal preparation room. Bethan had her bridesmaids and all on hand to help, with visits from various family members popping in from time to time. Tom arrived shortly after in a stunning Mustang, much to the envy of all the men there! When she was ready Bethan’s Granddad and Father came in ready to proudly walk her down the isle.
Documentary photography at The Ashes Barns
This was a great wedding for me to photograph. Bethan and Tom totally got my style of photography and wanted the emphasis to be on natural photos not staged. Apart from a few family groups and a handful of portraits around the beautiful lake my entire day was spent doing what I love, capturing real moments between loved ones and friends.
Later in the evening there was a brilliant magician on hand to entertain the guests before the band set up ready for everyone to dance the night away.
