The Mill at Stone wedding photography – Adam and Daniel

A few weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure to shoot Adam and Daniels wedding at The Mill in Stone. This was a new venue for me to shoot at which is always change. Also, being my first same sex wedding for two guys I was pretty excited for the day ahead.

The Mill Hotel and restaurant is a family run business owned by Jose who was on hand throughout the day to ensure Daniel and Adam had everything they needed. The building itself dates back to 1790’s and was a working corn mill, there are still lots of original features in place.

Weddings at The Mill in Stone

I arrived at The Mill just as the guys were finishing getting ready. Daniel and Adam weren’t interested in the old tradition of not seeing one another before the ceremony. So they got ready together whilst enjoying a G+T. Parents and family members were arriving to wish the couple well and I was able to get a good few natural shots before the ceremony.

The wedding ceremony itself takes place upstairs in The Mill. In a quirky turn of events the guys were escorted down the isle by their faithful dogs, who stayed as guests of honour throughout the day. 🙂 It was a great wedding ceremony with plenty of smiles and emotion. The guys had their closest friends getting involved with readings and witnessing the signing, it was clear to see they had sa very tight nit circle of friends.

After the ceremony we were able to get outside and make use of the grounds for photos. The Mill is a bit of a hidden gem with some really great photo opportunities outside. It had been raining hard the night before so some of the ground was a little boggy but we were still able to make use of the great backdrops on offer.

During the evening the guys had sparklers for everyone to enjoy before the first dance. Well, the first dance wasn’t actually supposed to happen but family and friends decided that they couldn’t miss out and made secret plans with the DJ!
