Tyn Dwr Hall Wedding Photography

Jodie and Jacks wedding was another amazing wedding from last summer. Tyn Dwr Hall is a little outside the areas I usually cover, the venue is located near Llangollen, Wales. But I’m always open to travelling a little further afield for an amazing wedding, and I’ve known Jack for many years as he’s one of the fantastic videographers I work with on a regular basis as he runs Up Close Wedding Productions. It’s always very flattering but also nerve wracking to shoot weddings for fellow suppliers. I always know they have a huge amount of contacts and choices so the bar is set high!

Tyn Dwr Hall weddings

Tyn Dwr Hall is tucked away in the Welsh countryside just outside Llangollen. The venue is a grade 2 listed house built in the 1800’s. When you approach the long drive up the venue you’re initial met with the stunning architecture of the building. But the real treat is when you visit the back of the venue to see the breathtaking views over the hilly Welsh countryside.

Inside the venue has lots of different rooms with period features, huge fireplaces and wood panelling. We had a bright and sunny day so didn’t spend much time indoors, but I’ve no doubt there would be plenty of opportunities for indoor photographs if it happened to rain.

After the drinks reception the guests are invited into the Garden room, which is a more models building where the wedding breakfast and evening reception is held. Having huge windows the natural light in this room is superb, which is perfect for capturing the speeches.

Wedding photography at Tyn Dwr Hall

The gardens to the rear of Tyn Dwr Hall are fantastic for wedding photography. There are amazing backdrops of the rolling hills, a stream with cute bridge and an old cottage with a swing (that Jodie fell off!).

A fantastic wedding at Tyn Dwr Hall

Jack and Jodie chose to have an outdoor ceremony, which was a fantastic choice as it turned out to be a warm and sunny day. The outdoor ceremony area is well bright and has the hall as a backdrop making a very picturesque setting.

After the ceremony guests were mingling in the grounds and playing lawn games, which always makes some amusing photos. Half way through the reception the couples Dalmatian made a surprise appearance, much to the delight of the wedding guests who gave her a huge fuss, in fact she nearly stole the show from the newlyweds! Much to the couples surprise their pooch made a further appearance when the guests sat down to eat, as you’ll see below.

After the wedding breakfast the couple had booked singing waiters to entertain the guests. I’ve seen singing waiters a number of times but these guys had a twist. Their performance was a mixture of comedy coupled with some fantastic singing and the mandatory picking on guests, they really were fab.

I could talk for hours about Jodie and Jacks wedding at Tyn Dwr Hall but I know you’re here to see the pictures….
