Helena and Joe’s wedding at Merrydale Manor

Helena and Joe were married a couple of months ago and I had the pleasure of being their wedding photographer. They were married at Merrydale Manor in Knutsford, Cheshire. I was super excited to be shooting at Merrydale Manor, it’s a great venue and one I was keen to work at. Being based in Staffordshire means I have the opportunity to work at some amazing venues in neighbouring counties such as Cheshire and Shropshire.

Bridal prep

When I arrived Helena was preparing herself in the prep rooms at Merrydale Manor. This was my first visit to Merrydale and I was really taken aback with how stunning the venue is both inside and out. The bridal party had loads of space and different rooms in which to get ready.

Shortly before the ceremony I caught up with Joe and his groomsmen. They welcomed family and friends who came to wish them well.

Wedding ceremony at Merrydale Manor

The ceremony at Merrydale Manor is held in a custom built barn which has that popular rustic feel. Helena looked simply breath taking as she made her way down the aisle. Her father looked extremely proud to give her away.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed mingling about the venue with a drink. Helena’s dad had arranged a surprise, a local bikers club arrived at the venue to rev their engines in support of the newlyweds.

Spring weddings

Although this ws a late spring wedding the weather wasn’t being too kind. It was quite windy, which can sometimes be tricky for pictures. The wind meant we couldn’t get onto the jets over the lake but Fortunately Merrydale manor has plenty of sheltered spots and indoor locations for photographs. And there was no way Helena and Joe were going to let it get in the way of a their pictures anyway!

Into the evening the couple had booked a fantastic band to entertain the guests. Bands always seem to get the guests up and dancing quicker, and this wedding was no different.
