Holmes Mill Wedding Photography – Naz and Toby

I was delighted when Naz and Toby booked me for their wedding at Holmes Mill. I’d actually been recommended to the couple by their friends who’s wedding I’d photographed a couple of years before, it’s amazing so many of my couples recommend me to their family and friends.

Holmes Mill is a little out of the usual area I cover. Whilst I’m more than happy to travel, I do tend to find my diary fills up with local venues fairly quickly. Holmes Mill is situated in the heart of Clitheroe and is a really really cool venue. A former textiles mill which has been converted into a brewery, wedding venue, bars, food hall and various other things, I’d probably say there isn’t another venue quite like it in the country.

Holmes Mill is such a cool venue for wedding photography. The ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception was held in a really industrial styled room called the Cotton room. it’s got great natural light and a very different feel to most wedding ceremony rooms. I think its safe to say people don’t choose Holmes Mill because they want a traditional wedding, they want to be different.

Outside theres a lovely little alleyway which was great for some couples portraits and group photos. We then ventured inside to the boiler room which gave yet another dimension to the couples photos and took the industrial vibe to the next level.

nah and Today were a super relaxed couple to work with. They loved my style of photography and just left me to do my thing. This meant I was able to really concentrate on the story of the wedding without spending too much time on staged photos. That said, I did really enjoy pushing my creativity in the unusual setting Holmes Mill has to offer.

In the evening Naz and Toby enjoyed their first dance in the cotton room before their bank Back Chat Brass took over and had the dance floor rocking.
