Awesome wedding at Heaton House Farm – Laura and Stuart

I know, its been ages since I’ve blogged a wedding at Heaton House Farm, but fear not because I’ve got some absolute gems to show you and we’ll start with Laura and Stuarts awesome summer wedding from last year.

Heaton House Farm weddings

Heaton House Farm is a wedding venue that just works brilliantly all year round. The venue has the most iconic tree in the wedding industry and it looks beautiful being covered in leaves during the summer months or when its bare and showing its structure during the winter. I love working at Heaton, not least for the countless photo opportunities, but the staff are super attentive and make sure the weddings always run to plan. And, having worked at the venue for so long now, I’m honoured to call many of the team my friends.

Anyway, as usual I’m waffling so lets get back to Laura and Stuarts wedding and see why it was so awesome. Well for one Stuart is an actual real life pilot, so that makes him cool right off the bat. It also makes me cool as he booked me to shoot his wedding and Heaton cool for hosting it lol 😉

Relaxed wedding photography

You’ll often hear photographers talk about their ideal client. Sometimes this can mean clients who spend a lot of money, have certain interests or clients who look a certain way. For me my ideal client are those who want a relaxed and chilled out wedding, and want the photography to reflect that. This was exactly the case for Laura and Stuart. They just wanted to have a super chilled day with their loved ones and just nip away with my briefly for some private photos together. I think what I really enjoyed about this wedding was just how much trust Laura and Stuart put in me to capture their day my way.

Al thought he day the couple were mingling with their guests, laughing and watching people enjoy the lawn games. It was almost a shame to take them away for any formal photos, bit of course the set wouldn’t be complete without some family photos and a few posed shots of the newlyweds.

Summer wedding at Heaton House Farm

For those of you who who follow Heaton House Farm you’ll know one thing it seems to have more than its fair share of is amazing sunsets. Being a late summers wedding the odds were stacked in our favour and didn’t disappoint one bit. After the speeches the sky turned to fire and were were blessed with he infamous Heaton sunset. So I quickly grabbed the couple and made the most of the stunning sky. Sunsets don’t always last long, sometimes it can just be a 10 minute window to nip out and get a couple of shots.

(ps – I didnt set up that conga, I’ve no idea how on earth that happened but it did!)

As the evening party began to build the couple enjoyed their first dance before the dance-floor erupted into full swing party mode. It was great being Laura and Stuart’s wedding photographer. The guys clearly had an amazing day and I’m really pleased I was able to be there with them and capture their memories. If you’re planning a wedding t Heaton House Farm (or anywhere else for that matter) and would like a relaxed, documentary approach to your photos please do get in touch so we can chat about your day.
