Wroxeter Hotel Shrewsbury Wedding Photography – Melissa and Sam

Last summer it was great to be back at The Wroxeter Hotel for Melissa and Sams wedding. I’ve worked at The Wroxeter a few times over the years, but this was my first time back since covid and it was amazing to see how much investment the hotel has made into its wedding business.

The Wroxeter Hotel wedding venue

The hotel itself is a lovely Georgian country house with plenty of rooms for all your guests. The new additions to the venue are a stunning outdoor woodland area, with the option for an outdoor ceremony, a tipi for a more relaxed vibe for the wedding breakfast and drinks reception, and a Yurt for a more rustic ceremony. Melissa and Sam had planned don having the woodland ceremony, but the weather was looking iffy so the call was made to go for the Yurt.

The woodland area has added some great new angles for your wedding photo. By the time the ceremony had finished the weather had cleared and we were able to make use of the outdoor areas. I really liked all the wild flowers in the woodland area for a truly rustic feel to Melissa and Sams portraits.

Tipi wedding reception

After enjoying drinks outside the guests all made their way into the tipi for the wedding breakfast and speeches. The couple had also arranged singing waiters as a surprise. I love singing waiters at weddings. I never thought I’d say that until I saw them in action but they really are a great addition to your wedding and get the guests up off their chairs dancing around.

Later in the evening I took the couple for a little walk down the lane to a nearby field for a few sunset photos. The couple brought some smoke bombs along so we had some fun with those before heading back to the main hotel for the evening celebrations.

Melissa and Sam had one final surprise for their guests, an Elton John tribute act. He was fab, Melissa and her chief bridesmaid even got up and sang a few bars with him!

This was a fantastic wedding to be part of and I really enjoyed celebrating with Melissa and Sam. If you like relaxed and natural wedding photos drop me a line to have a chat about your day.
