Aston Marina wedding Photography – Julie and Paul
Julie and Paul got married at The Boat House at Aston Marina last spring. I was really looking forward to this wedding as I’d got to know the couple quite well over the years, the wedding had been postponed due to covid and in the meantime I’d got to know Paul as he was a physio at the clinic I was attending for tennis elbow. I think he really enjoyed pushing pins into my arm in retaliation for me taking his photo in the future!
Aston Marina wedding
I really enjoy shooting weddings at Aston Marina. I find the venue attracts couples with a really relaxed vibe who just want to have a good party and go with he flow all day. Being located at the marina there’s obviously stacks of amazing photo locations around the barges and on the bridge at the far end of the marina. Fortunately at Julie and Pauls wedding the weather was sunny and dry so we were able to take a short walk to the marina and get some great photos in the evening. What an amazing sunset we had.
Outdoor wedding ceremony at Aston Marina
Julie and Paul opted for an outdoor wedding ceremony. It’s a lovely location for outdoor ceremonies overlooking the marina with all the guests seated on the terrace. The only problem was on the day it was blowing an absolute gale. As she made her way down the aisle poor Julie’s hair was getting blown all over the place. I was a little worried how this would affect the photos, but knowing Julie and Paul they’d just find them funny, and at the end of the day thats what happened on the day, it’s all part of the memories they’ll look back on.
Dogs at weddings
The past few years have seen a huge increase in couples having their dogs at weddings, which is really cool. I’ve got two dogs myself and I love seeing dogs form part of the wedding day. Julie and Paul have two huge dogs who came along to help them celebrate and it was great to include them in some of the photos. I think they might have stolen the show a little bit to be honest!
As the evening drew in and the first dance was done it was time to party, and these guys really know how to party. There as some crazy dancing and I’ve no doubt there would have been some sore heads in the morning, so worth it though!
