Same Sex wedding at The Ashes Barns

I’ve photographed lots of same weddings and it’s always an honour to capture their special day. I sometimes find same sex couples are keen to throw away some of the usual wedding traditions and make the day their own. I think its super important for everyone to tailor their wedding to themselves as much as possible and not feel too bound to tradition. In the UK we have a lot of traditions and sometimes I worry couples feel they should do things a certain way for the sake of tradition, I say throw that idea to the wind and make the day your own!

Winter wedding at The Ashes

Mike and Sam may have got married in December but you really wouldn’t have known by the weather, it was a glorious day and guests were happy to mingle outside during the drinks reception. Fortunately with it being such a nice day we were able to make full use of the stunning grounds at The Ashes and all the amazing spots on offer for photographs. Sam and Mike are such a naturally happy couple taking their photograph couldn’t have been any easier. They just kept smiling and I kept clicking!

Even although the weather was good my focus is to always spend less time on the posed phots and more time capturing natural moments at the wedding.
