wedding photography at Moddersall Oaks
During August I was shooting another wedding at Moddershall Oaks, which is becoming an increasingly popular Staffordshire venue.
The day started off with a trip over to Leicester to cover Amy’s bridal prep. Along with capturing the all important getting ready shots I also had the pleasure to try some of Amy’s mum’s delicious Samosas and Indian Tea…perks of the job and all that!
After prep it was the drive back to Staffordshire to catch up with James and the boys at Moddershall before Amy arrived for her finishing touches.
The plan initially was an outdoor wedding ceremony. But even although this was August we were left with rain throughout most of the morning, so a quick change of plants an indoor ceremony. Fortunately the staff at Moddersahall Oaks were on hand to help Amy and her bridesmaids make their way to the ceremony without getting too wet.
Weddings at Moddershall Oaks
After the ceremony we were lucky and had a break in the rain enabling us to nip outside for the photographs. One thing that is absolutely great about Moddershall Oaks is the artificial grass near the outdoor ceremony area. Having the artificial grass means ladies heels don’t sink and shoes stay clean on otherwise rainy days. It was great to be able to make use of Moddershall Oaks fantastic ground for a few posed shots of the happy couple before making their way inside in preparation for speeches and the wedding breakfast.
It was lovely to see Amy incorporate some Indian traditions throughout the day in the form of the most beautiful jewellery and Henna. She wore a white dress for the civil ceremony but then changed into an intricately detailed Indian gown for the evening celebrations. I always love seeing different traditions and outfits being incorporated into weddings.
As with all Indian weddings this ended with one hell of a party on the dance floor!
This was yet another great wedding at Moddershall Oaks and I’m looking forward to showing there many more times throughout 2017.
