Wedding photography at Heaton House Farm – Emma and Alex

Emma and Alex got married at Heaton House Farm, one of my favourite venues where I’m extreamley pleased to be a recommended photographer.

It seems the weather didn’t get the memo that this was in fact a summer wedding, but theres no way the rain was going to have an impact on the day. Emma and Alex were ready for an awesome wedding and thats exactly what they had!

Heaton House Farm weddings

When I arrived Emma was getting ready in the dedicated preparation room which has the most gorgeous natural light. The room was jam packed with her family and bridesmaids who were all very much getting into the part spirit. It was so lovely to capture the emotion when Emma’s Grandmother arrived, I was given strict instructions that she was very much a VIP at the wedding so was such to capture lots of photos her!

Alex got ready in the bridal suite with his boys and another VIP, the couples little doggie who was the ring bearer! It’s lovely to see venues identify how important dogs are to people these days and allow them to attend the wedding.

Wedding ceremony at Heaton House Farm

Emma and Alex chose to get married in the entrance barn. Heaton has three different location options for the ceremony but I think the entrance barn tends to be the most popular for my couples due to it’s relaxed feel. It’s also a big long room, so the bride gets to enjoy every moment as she walks down the aisle. I really enjoyed Emma and Alex’s ceremony, plenty of humour and laughs which always takes the edge off any nerves the couple may be feeling.

So yep, we had a rainy day, but unless you want lots and lots of posed photos the rain really doesn’t make as much difference as you might think. Like most couples who book me Emma and Alex wanted mostly natural photos with just a few posed shots. They wanted to spend more time at the wedding with their guests than having too many posed photos, so the rain didn’t make one bit of difference. We still managed to nip out between showers for some quick family groups and a few shots with Heaton legendary sycamore tree.

The evening party

The evening entertainment was provided by DJ Tom Finkill, a fantastic host who never fails to get the party started. Tom isn’t your usual wedding DJ, he’s definitely not for people who don’t want to party. Before the first dance he gets everyone up on their chairs dancing to get the atmosphere going so the dance-floor is packed from the word go. This wedding was definitely no exception!

This was another amazing wedding at Heaton House Farm and I’m looking forward to getting back many times this year. If you’re planning a wedding please get in touch and let me know your plans.
