The West Mill wedding photography – Lindsay and Baz
I was over the moon when Lindsay and Baz booked me for their wedding at The West Mill. Not only were they a super chilled out couple but The West Mil is a venue I absolutely love shooting wedding at.
The West Mill Derbyshire
The West Mill is a stunning venue for weddings. This historic mill, dating back to the 18th century, has been immaculately restored and transformed into a very unique and versatile venue for weddings.
The West Mill offers a variety of spaces for couples to choose from for their special day. The main event space, the Mill Room, boasts exposed brick walls, high ceilings and large windows that flood the room with natural light. It’s a very unusual place to hold a wedding but works so well. The venue is a mixture of industrial and rustic but still with a feeling of luxury.
Wedding photography at The West Mill
Personally I absolutely love shooting indoors at The west Mill. But thats not to say they’re isn’t good space outside. The outdoor spaces at the West Mill are just as stunning as the indoor spaces. Theres a large terrace, wooded area and stunning views overlooking the river Derwent.
On Lindsay and Baz’ wedding day we unfortunately had heavy rain all day, so going outside wasn’t an option. As previously mentioned, this really doesn’t matter at The west Mill, the quirky, unique and industrial setting inside makes a brilliant backdrop for the photographs.
Lindsay and Baz wedding was a very relaxed wedding which suits my style of photography down to a T. The day seemed very much a family affair with friends and family really being involved with the proceedings, especially in the evening when several family members took to the mic and blasted out a few songs…what great way to get the evening kicked off!
All in all this was a fantastic wedding at The West Mill and I really enjoyed spending time with Lindsay, Baz and their family. If you’d like this style of wedding photography at our wedding why not pop me a message so we can have a chat.
