Nicky and Grey’s wedding at Davenport House

I was overjoyed when Nicky and Grey booked me to shoot their wedding at Davenport House, it’s a venue that I’d been itching to work at for ages and finally I had the opportunity to capture a wedding there.

Davenport House is a historic country house wedding venue in Shropshire. The venue is set deep into the Shropshire countryside and all you can see for miles around is beautiful hills and farmland. When you’re at Davenport House it’s almost like you become teleported back into time and only seeing wedding guests with their smartphones reminds you that its actually the present day!

Davenport house is still family run and yo really do get a sense of being a very welcome guest in someones family home. The venue is very well maintained both inside and out and there are countless photo opportunities throughout the venue.

As mentioned I was really pleased when Nicky and Grey booked me to be their Davenport House wedding photographer. Not only because I was excited to work at the venue but also after chatting to the couple I know they were completely the sort of clients I enjoy working with. A really relaxed couple who just wanted to enjoy the day with their loved ones without too much wedding formality. And thats exactly how the day played out, the entire wedding had a relaxed and informal vibe from start to finish.

This was definitely a wedding that suited a relaxed photography style and I have to say all the guests were so friendly and welcoming, at times I had to remind myself I was there to work not just to mingle!
