Asian wedding at Rodbaston Hall – Mike and Ranjana

I was very pleased to return to Rodbaston Hall in Penkridge, Staffordshire. This time for something a little different shooting my first Hindu wedding for Ranjana and Mike.

I always enjoy shooting weddings at Rodbaston as the grounds are simply spectacular with acres of well maintained gardens as well as the impressive 19th century building providing a backdrop.

Mike and Ranj actually had two ceremonies, in the morning the Hindu ceremony which was conducted outdoors and also a civil ceremony which took place later in the afternoon in the hall itself.

Whilst I had shot an Asian ceremony before this was my first Hindu ceremony so I was a little unsure what to expect, in preparation I did some research online and was excited for the challenge ahead.

It was wonderful seeing all the different details and traditions. The gentleman who conducted the ceremony did so in a lighthearted manner and with good humour as he guided Mike through the different elements of the ceremony. It was great seeing how all the family have roles to play and get involved in the ceremony itself. Instead of explaining too much I’ll let the photos explain the story.

This great day with loads going on to shoot, great food and boy..did these guys know how to party!

It was a fast paced wedding and I worked hard to capture every detail, everyone was very welcoming and helpful and it was great to receive this feedback from Mike and Ranj “Our pics are beautiful.
