Staffordshire farm wedding Jess and Tom

Jess and Tom had a wonderful DIY wedding at Tom’s parents farm and I was lucky enough to be there to capture it. Keep reading to see the fun we had on this awesome day.

Staffordshire Farm weddings

As Stafford is surrounded by countryside I’m fortunate enough to shoot a good handful of farm weddings each year. Whilst I absolutely love my regular venues such as Pendrell Hall and Foxtail Barns, it’s good of the creative soul to shoot something a little different now and then. What I love about farm weddings is just how personalised they are to the couple and how many friends and family pitch in to get everything ready and ensure a smooth running of the day.

Sandon church wedding ceremony

The couple chose to tie the knot at Sandon church which is located within the grounds of Sandon Hall estate. The church was just a few minutes drive down the road from the farm so made an ideal choice. As with most farm weddings there were loads of guests to squish into the little church, all there to see the happy couple finally get married.

There isn’t a lot of room outside Sandon church, so we didn’t hang around there to long before heading back to the farm to begin the celebrations. However, not before an epic confetti shot where one of Toms groomsmen decided to empty the remainder of the confetti basket right over his head!

Once back at the farm we took a few couples shot around their farm house with the cows before heading to the marquee for garden games and welcome drinks. There were some great scenes with the games, I think my favourite was the home made wak-a-mole, it was harder than it looked!

Speeches were fantastic. Toms best man, Phil did an absolute number on him and I’m looking forward to seeing Tom get his own back when I capture Phils wedding later this year.

After the first dance the the band took to the stage the dance floor was jam packed with some epic dancing moves.

I always look a good farm wedding and this was no exception. It’s been great to catch up with Jess and Tom for a family shoot since the wedding and I’m looking forward to seeing them again at Tasha and Phil wedding soon.
