Snowy winter wedding at Heaton House Farm

Anna and Elliot had an intimate winter wedding at Heaton House Farm and I was the lucky photographer chosen to capture their day. I shoot many winter weddings each year and must admit I really do enjoy them. Sometimes the weather can be a bit of a challenge but thats what we’re used to here in the UK, however at Anna and Elliots wedding they struck gold. We were blessed with heavy snow which makes the perfect backdrop for a winter wedding.

Whilst I was excited to shoot in the snow I must admit I was a little worried about getting to Heaton. I knew the main roads would be fine, but as Heaton is high up in the Staffordshire Moorlands I was a bit concerned about the country lanes. However fear not. Mick, the owner of Heaton house farm and all round super nice guy, had been out in his telehandler clearing all the smaller roads to make sure all guests and suppliers could arrive safely. What a legend.

Heaton has the most beautiful scenery all year round but it was simply breathtaking to see the views with snow on the ground. Obviously it was very cold out so I was conscious not to take too long with the couples portrait photos. This really wasn’t an issue as Anna and Elliot were equally as excited for the snow and more than happy to battle on for as long as needed. In fact the brave couple even came back out in the evening hen it was super cold for some glorious sunset photos.

It was great to see so many of Anna and Elliots guests managed to make the journey to their wedding, some coming from as far afield as Sheffield where they’d had even more snow! To top off an amazing day everyone stayed late into he evening to party with the newly weds as their band Lazy Marmalade were rocking the dance floor.

This was an amazing winter wedding at Heaton House farm and I’m so pleased Anna and Elliot braved the cold for these awesome snowy pictures.
