The Upper House wedding – Aimee and John

The Upper House at Barlaston, Staffordshire is a fantastic wedding venue and I was over the moon when Aimee and John booked me to be their wedding photographer for 26th April 2014.

The day started off with bridal preparation at Aimee’s parents house, and as John was getting ready with his groomsmen only around the corner I called in to take a few quick shots of them too. All the bridesmaids were on hand to help Aimee into her dress and apply the finishing touches.

Once ready Aimee and her dad made they way to the church in a classic VW camper van all set for a beautiful ceremony at Yarnfield Church. This is a very small and intimate church which seems to be the perfect size and atmosphere for Aimee and John’s wedding. It was a relaxed ceremony with plenty of humour and a good helping of emotion thrown in for good measure.

After the ceremony the weather was good so we took some group photographs before it decided to start raining, fortunately the rain cleared up after the meal allowing us time to take some stunning portraits of the newlyweds. The Upper House is prefect for wedding photographs as there is plenty of variation within the grounds providing lots of different opportunities.

All in all this was one of my favourite weddings so far this year and I’m really pleased Aimee and John gave me a little time to try a few creative shots, hopefully it paid off and they like them.
