Mytton and Mermaid wedding photographer

Jess and Oli’s booked me as their wedding photographer at least 2 years ahead of the date, I’ve known them for many years so was really looking forward to capturing their big day.

The ceremony itself was to be held at a beautiful church local to Jess’ parents, the same church her grand parents got married in, whilst the reception was at the Mytton and Mermaid near Shrewsbury. The venue is a beautiful grade 2 listed building sitting on the banks of the river Severn. A real country pub serving fantastic food the Mytton and Mermaid is ideal for relaxed weddings like Jess and Oli’s. There is a dedicated room for the reception and wedding breakfast, outdoor reception area which is covered in case of rain and the grounds boast a great variety of options to have your wedding photos taken.

When I arrived at Jess’ parents house for bridal prep the excitement was already running high, assisted by her mum, sister and two bridesmaids..and a little bucks fizz!

The church vicar was a lovely gentleman who let me stand right at the front to capture all the emotion of the wedding ceremony, it always varies in churches where I may stand but on this occasion I was lucky. Jess’ dad looked proud as punch as he walked her down the isle. The ceremony was conducted beautifully and I could feel the emotion in the church as family and friends watched on.

After the ceremony we headed over the the Mytton and Mermaid, we had some rain but fortunately enough it cleared up enough for us to get some great photos around the grounds before the guests made their way in for a wonderful afternoon tea whilst listening to Replay Acoustic duo.

This was a fantastic, relaxed wedding perfect for my approach to wedding photography.  I’m really pleased Jess and Oli chose me to be their wedding photographer, I had a great time and we got some fantastic story telling photos.
