Tower of the winds wedding photography

Ellen and Jo booked me for their same sex wedding at the Tower of the winds which is the most unusual quirky venue situated in the grounds of Shugborough estate. A small Tower based on classical Grecian architecture, as the name suggests the Tower is like the famous Athens landmark….just in a little better condition!

This was a wedding I had been looking forward to since the day it was booked for many reasons; It was one of my first same sex weddings, the venue is really unusual and nothing quite like I’d ever worked at before and also Ellen and Jo had really thought outside the box to make their day special and unique.

This was a small intimate wedding for the couples closest family and friends which suited the venue perfectly as The Tower of the winds can only seat around 35 people for the wedding ceremony. I feel equally at home shooting small weddings as I do larger ones, whats nice about smaller weddings such as this one is everyone stays as one group rather than segregating into several smaller ones.

After a massively emotional wedding ceremony (always my favourite) we took a few photos outside before making our way to Netherstowe House near Lichfield where the guests enjoyed drinks followed by an intimate lunch together. Before the couple sat down for lunch we had chance to take a few shots in Netherstowe’s beautiful grounds before I made my way home.
