Summer marquee wedding – Katie and Matt
Summer marquee wedding
Katie and Matt had a fantastic summers wedding in June 2015. Katie’s dad is a farmer so they decided to make use of the land and set up a marquee to host the wedding reception there. This turned out to be a brilliant plan as the weather was amazing and a superb time was had by all and it was a fantastic day to be their Shropshire wedding photographer.
I arrived at the farm for bridal prep early in the morning, Katie had her bridesmaids helping her with the final preparations and getting everything ready for the big day ahead. There were still some finishing touches to do with the marquee and bouquets before the girls excitedly began getting themselves ready.
The ceremony itself was at a small church in the nearby village of Craven Arms. It was very modern and friendly service and Matt and Katie couldn’t have been happier as they were announced husband and wife by the minister. After the ceremony the newly weds made their way back to the farm in a gorgeous split screen camper-van where their family and friends were waiting to celebrate with them.
The marquee had been decorated splendidly, the couple and their family had made most of the decoration themselves and they had done an absolutely sterling job. There was a mild vintage beach theme which worked perfectly without being over the top.
After the meal and speeches it was time to cut the cakes, but these guys wouldn’t be happy with just one traditional cake, they had a huge pork pie mountain to cut as well – skilfully made by Katie’s sister.
The evening entertainment was provided by an excellent band it was looking to be a great party as I wished the happy couple all the best.
