Thrumpton Hall wedding photographer – Bekki and Brian
Thrumpton Hall wedding
Thrumpton Hall is a stunning 16th century English country house based in the small village of Thrumpton, Nottinghamshire. Set amongst two acres of highly maintained landscaped gardens featuring well kept lawns, lakeside walks, magnificent archways and a stunning rose garden, Thrumpton hall is a remarkably romantic venue and a wedding photographers dream. Internally the house is bursting with period character including roaring fireplaces, carved staircases and decades of culture and history. You could find yourself quite caught up looking at the paintings on the walls and books in the library.
Larger summer weddings can be held outside in the lakeside pavilion however this was a small, intimate winter wedding at Thrumpton Hall so was held inside the house itself in the beautiful wooden panelled Baronial Hall.
I met Bekki a few years ago when I shot her brothers wedding in Italy, so I was honoured to have been asked to photographer her marriage to Brian and was particularly excited to hear of their small intimate wedding wedding for close family and friends. Bekki and Brian explained they wanted a very relaxed wedding and they certainly achieved this. There was no stress, no fuss and everyone as having a damn fine time!
After the service all the guests enjoyed drinks whilst listening to a string trio around the log fire in the library. It was a beautiful sunny day, although a little chilly, so we headed out for a few quick photographs in the gardens. We didn’t spend a long time outside as it was a bit cold and Bekki and Brian had requested less formal photography and more natural, candid photography – which suits me well as this gives me more time to focus on the story of the day.
Before the newlyweds and guests sat down for their wedding breakfast there were some beautifully emotional speeches as families and friends joined Bekki and Brian in their celebrations.
When the evening celebrations kicked off there was an amazing Sinatra tribute band and everyone was up dancing and swinging with one another. Bekki and Brian then cut their cake and made a short speech to once again thank everyone for helping to make their wedding day so special.
