Sara and Wayne’s Autumn wedding at The Moat House

This blog post is a flashback to last November when I shot Sara and Wayne’s wedding at The Moat House Acton Trussell. I didn’t get round to blogging this wedding last year due to my workload, but when Sara saw the slideshow I recently created for her friends wedding at Slaters she asked if I could make one for her, so it makes sense to do a blog at the same time.

The slideshow is something new I have started making for couples. My style of wedding photography is based upon story-telling and the slideshow really focusses on the story of the day.

Weddings at The Moat House

So, back to Sara and Wayne’s wedding. The pressure was on for this one as Sara’s mum is an accomplished wedding photographer herself. But short of catching a sneaky shot of me lying in mud she of course had her hands full assisting Sara on her wedding day.

The Moat House is a beautiful venue in all seasons and the autumn colours can look stunning in photographs making it one of my favourite seasons to shoot. Fortunately we had a dry start to the day meaning we were able to shoot outside until it got dark.

The wedding ceremony was held in the charming Colin Lewis suite, which is a more intimate ceremony room than the Acton suite and has a more classical appeal with its wooden beamed ceiling.

After the ceremony we were able to nip outside for some photos whilst the guest enjoyed reception drinks in the bar. After the meal it started raining but Sara and Wayne were game for a couple of quick shots outside. Rain really doesn’t need to spoil your wedding photos if tyre brave enough to nip out for five minutes, in fact its not unusual for couples to say they’d like some rain in the evening for one of these shots!
