A shot I love from Mari-ann and Marek’s wedding

Mari-ann and Marek had their wedding at The Moat house Acton Trussel early in January this year. Its quite an interesting story how we met.. I was shooting at wedding at The moat house and as I was walking back to my car to put some kit away a car pulls along side of me and they ask if i’m a photographer. I guess that whats called being in the right place at the right time!

So what do I love about this shot. well this was taken when Mari-ann, her bridesmaid and page boy were making their way from the bridal suite to the wedding ceremony. This is a pure documentary shot, nothing here is set up or posed so the emotion you see is real and genuine.

I love the smile on Mari-anns face. She was really relaxed and not at all afraid to show emotion. But what really makes this shot for me if the eye contact between the page boy, Mari-anns son, and the bridesmaid. I can’t remember now if they were related in anyway but they are both such lovely kids, very polite and clearly brought up well.

The young lad said he felt like james bond in his suit and he certainly looked the part. I took a shot later of him and Marek looking really cool,  I’ll include that in this post too.

For me capturing story-telling images is so very important, I love posed and creative shots but real moments like this can’t be set up and when couples look back not their day in many years time the natural photographs will be more treasured than the posed.
