Dunwood Hall wedding – Kym and Mark
Kym and Mark’s wedding at Dunwood Hall
Kym and Mark were married a couple of weeks ago. They celebrated their wedding at Dunwood Hall situated just outside Leek in Staffordshire. I’ve been wanting to shoot at Dunwood for some time so was super excited for their wedding!
Kym got ready at a nearby Air B&B. She had her hair and makeup finished and I photographed the story as it developed. Mark and the boys were getting ready nearby making themselves look very dapper in the suits and getting ready for the day ahead.
Milton parish Church wedding
Upon Kym’s arrival it was cold but the skies were blue and clear. A stark contrast to when they left the church as husband and wife during a snow blizzard!
Kym was given away by her son who did a brilliant job of walking her down the isle. The vocal was a very relaxed chap who conducted the ceremony with plenty of humour.
Due to the weather the couple made a dash for the car straight after the ceremony. Then we made our way to Dunwood Hall to begin the celebrations. The atmosphere at the reception was perfect for entertaining the guests. I walked around photographing the guests as they relaxed and talked.
Winter weddings at Dunwood Hall
I quite enjoy photographing Winter weddings as the scenery can be spectacular. We had a good bit of snow and it was very cold but Kym and Mark braved the weather for some photos outside and I’m glad they did as we got some great shots!
Once the wedding meal was finished it was time for the speeches to begin so everybody got ready for some lovely words from the speakers. It’s a difficult job for a wedding photographer to photograph speeches, because it’s all about the words, so you have to look for the emotions being reflected in the way people react to the words to tell the story. People were dancing for hours, enjoying the moment as bride and groom were showing off their best moves.
