Breadsall Priory wedding photographer – Caitie and Chris
Towards the end of last August I had the absolute pleasure to photograph the wedding of Caitie and Chris, who got married at Breadsall Priory.
Theres an important message behind the reason I ended up photographing this wedding. Unfortunately the couple had fallen victim to one of the increasing number of scams we are seeing within the wedding industry where a substantial deposit is paid to a supplier who then disappears. For your own peace of mind always check the supplier has a good number of reviews spanning several years, has both a website and social media presence for many years and if possible is a recommended supplier at some venues. It doesn’t have to be the venue you’re getting married at, but being recommended another venue will show a certain level of commitment as venues do not hand out recommendations easily. Also trust your instincts, if a supplier is giving an offer that sounds too good to be true there may be reason to make further background checks before handing over your deposit.
Anyway, enough about the negatives because this was an amazing wedding and Im very pleased I ended up photographing it in the end. The unfortunate experience the couple went through only made me all the more determined to give them a brilliant set of photos and restore their faith in wedding professionals.
Breadsall Priory wedding photos
Breadsall Priory, located in Morley, Derbyshire, is now owned by the Marriot chain and features a golf course. However the priory itself dates right back to the 1200s.It was around the 1500s that the current building started to take form. This was my first time shooting at the venue so I was super eager to get stuck in and see what I could capture. As you can imagine Breadsall Priory has absolutely stacks of stunning grounds and backdrops, which make this an excellent venue for wedding photography.
Caitie got ready in Bridal suite on the morning of the wedding. The excitement was starting to build as the hair was finished and make up applied. Chris and his guys arrived at the venue looking dapper and it was soon time for them to tie the knot.
Wedding ceremony at Breadsall Priory
Friends and family looked on as Caitie and Chris exchanged rings in a fantastic ceremony at Breadsall Priory. I couldn’t ask for a better job than being a Derbyshire wedding photographer and ceremonies like this one remind me why I do what I do.
After the ceremony guests made their way outside to enjoy the brilliant sunshine and stunning grounds. It was a really hot, sunny day so I waited until the evening for the majority of the couples photos when the light is a little softer. A member of staff kindly took us round in a golf caddy which was great fun.
Later into the evening Caitie and Chris had an awesome surprise in store. They had booked Love Light Entertainment along with A Dj, Sax, Bongo player etc. These guys absolutely rocked the dance floor and I hope I bump into them again in the future. I really enjoyed photographing Caitie and Chris’s special day and I just know they will build a fantastic life together.
