Annika and Rachel’s wedding at The Ashes
During the summer I had another fantastic same sex wedding at The Ashes near Leek.
One of my favourite Staffordshire venues, weddings at the Ashes never seem to disappoint. With such outstanding countryside grounds, rustic barns and top class staff it’s certain to be a great day.
Annika and Rachel were throwing many traditions to the wind, including avoiding seeing each other before the wedding. Instead they both got ready in the old dairy where Gemma from Doll-face Make up was busy making the girls look their best.
Wedding ceremony at The Ashes
For the wedding ceremony the barn was set out in the horseshoe layout, this was a great idea as it gave two isles, one for each bride to walk down when being given away by their proud dads.
The brides wanted a relaxed and chilled out wedding so formal photography was kept to a minimum. As a documentary wedding photographer this is music toy ears as I’m able to focus on the story of the wedding and capturing those beautiful moments .
Being a summer wedding everyone was relaxing outside playing games and enjoying the summer evening. Annika and Rachel opted against doing a first dance so instead we spent a few minutes taking photos in the corn field.
If you’re planning a wedding please do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you.
