Cranage Hall wedding photography – Amanda and Duncan’s wedding

Cranage Hall weddings

Amanda and Duncan booked me for their wedding at Cranage Hall a good year or so before the wedding and, due to Amanda living in  Canada at the time, we didnt actually meet up until their engagements shoot in June.

Cranage Hall is undoubtedly one of my favourite places to work, a remarkable grade 2 listed building which combines traditional architecture with modern interior design. There are a number of rooms and suites suitable for weddings of all sizes and, as the venue boasts such stunning grounds and gardens, the photo opportunities are endless. Even in the rain we can always get a great set of photos from weddings at Cranage hall due to the beautiful interior – or in the case of Amanda and Duncan, why let rain prevent you having outdoor wedding photos…? Read on for more about that…

When I arrived Amanda was getting ready with the aid of her bridesmaids, hair dresser and make up artist, whilst my good friend Joe Scrivens was with Duncan shooting his groom preparations. Whilst walking about the venue I could see the huge amount of planning and impeccable attention to detail that had gone into making this wedding day representAmanda and dun cans personalities and journey they’d been on throughout their time spent in an overseas relationship, world travels and finally their union and marriage as they settled in the UK.

The sun was beating down and the scene was set for an outdoor ceremony with Canage hall framing as the perfect backdrop. After the ceremony guests enjoyed traditional Root Beer as their welcome drink, I was offered one and I have to say it was delicious (non alcoholic, obviously). Canapés in the form of mini fish and chips and various other delights again demonstrated attention to detail which had gone into planning this day fusing Canadian with English traditions.

Now, earlier in the blog I mentioned rain – well have a look at the photos below. After the speeches we headed out to take a few evening shots, within minutes the heavens opened and it started raining cats and dogs so we rushed back inside.. to my surprise Amanda turned to me and asked if we could go back out and shoot in the rain.. its not after a bride asked to go out in the rain but when you look t the shots we got I think it payed off!
