Village wedding photography – Katie and Joe
Village wedding photography
As a wedding photographer I often shoot at wonderful hotels and wedding venues around the midlands area but it always makes a nice change when couples think outside the box a little and have a more personalised wedding.
Katie and Joe did this and had their wedding based around the village where they live, Salt near Stafford. Salt is a lovely little village with a strong community based around the Holybush Inn which is owned by Joe’s dad (great food by the way!).
Before the ceremony family and friends gathered in the village square to enjoy champaign and drinks, Joe’s dad had organised a waiter to serve everyone and it was a great community feeling.
The ceremony itself was held in the local village church, photography was restricted so the only shots i have to show was from when the minister said it was permitted. As I’ve mentioned before, in my opinion a professional photographer shouldn’t take “sneaky” shots against the ministers wishes.
After the ceremony we travelled to Oak Ridge Shooting ground in between Stafford and Rugeley for the reception. As the name describes the venue is situated in a shooting ground on the edge of Cannock Chase. There were some remarkable views, however unfortunately we got rained off so didn’t have the opportunity to make the most of them.
After the wedding breakfast there were some hugely entertaining speeches which had the whole party in stitches. I then left the couple to dace the night away. There were no first dance photographs as I was only booked for short day coverage.
