Lilleshall National sports centre wedding photography

Lilleshall National Sports centre is a hidden gem when it comes to weddings. Whilst at first it may sound an unlikely venue the 18th century stately home is actually an ideal location for weddings as it has the most beautiful grounds and internal decor, all maintained to a very high standard. Lilleshall National Sports centre is conveniently placed for me as I’m a wedding photographer in Stafford.

Anneli and Stuart booked me as their wedding photographer some time ago and it was good to catch up with them at the engagements shoot where stuart and I could chat about cameras and photography, as Stuart himself is a keen and highly skilled photographer (no pressure for me then 🙂 !).

On the morning of the wedding I met up with Anneli at her patents house for a couple of quick shots before they were due to leave, there was a house full of bridesmaids and family all excited for the big day and it was apparent just how prude Anneli’s parents felt of their daughter who looked stunning in her wedding dress.

This was a small wedding for close family and friends, there is no magic formula or ideal number for a wedding, small and intimate is just as good as big and grand.

After a relaxed but emotional ceremony we made our way outside to make use of the fantastic grounds Lilleshall National Sports centre has to offer – perfect for wedding photography. Unfortunately after the group photographs the weather took a slight turn for the worst so we had to postpone the bride and groom portraits until after the meal.

After the speeches the newlyweds enjoyed their first dance before we shot some wedding portraits indoors as it was still raining. Thats the advantage of high quality venues such as Lilleshall national sports centre – there is plenty of photographic opportunities inside if the weather is bad outside. Fortunately the rain died off so we were able to nip outside for a quick shoot too.

All in all a fantastic day and I look forward to catching up with Anneli and Stuart again in the future.
