Swancar Farm winter wedding photography

I was very pleased when Steph and Alex booked me to be their wedding photographer at Swancar Farm in Derbyshire. Not only are they an extremely good looking, fun couple but this is a venue I was really looking forward to working at.

Swancar farm has stunning interior rooms, particularly the one where the wedding breakfast and evening reception is held, there is some gorgeous light streaming through the windows. Outside is great for wedding photography too, the grounds are well maintained and there are some stunning views over the Derbyshire countryside.

The ceremony itself was held at a beautiful church close to Alex and Steph’s home and someone had been very busy decorating the fence leading down the church driveway with bows and ribbons, it was a great touch. The vicar requested I shoot from the rear of the church which is great because you get a wonderful view of the details of the high altar and this was one of the nicest churches I’ve seen.

After the ceremony we headed over to Swancar farm and unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse as the rain and wind started to really pick up. Fortunately we were able to shoot some group photographs inside the venue and had a brief gap in the rain for Alex and Steph to have a few shots outside.
