The Moat House weddings

The Moat House at Acton Trussell near Stafford is a fantastic 4 star hotel and wedding venue. Situated within easy reach of the M6 motorway The Moat House offers a variety of options to cater for all tastes and budgets.

Owned and run by the Lewis partnership you can be sure of excellent service, I even got married there myself back in 2012 – You can’t get better than that for a personal recommendation!

Weddings at The Moat House are always first class, from the first point of contact to when you leave the day after your wedding you can be assured of a very personal, efficient service from all the team.

Wedding ceremonies at The Moat House

There are two rooms licensed for civil ceremonies; The Acton suite which is downstairs and the smaller Colin Lewis suite upstairs.

The Acton suite is able to host larger weddings and is decorated to a high standard with modern furnishings. There is lovely soft window light which gives a very flattering light to your ceremony your photographs and the suite overlooks the canal.

The Colin Lewis suite is more suitable for smaller more intimate ceremonies. Part of the original building the Colin Lewis has an low Oak beamed ceiling which really adds an authentic atmosphere.

Wedding photography at The Moat House

The Moat House has great opportunities both indoors and outside. Externally there are two well kept lakes with jetty’s that make fantastic photo opportunities. Around the back of the Moat House there is the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal which, when coupled with the Acton Moat bridge in the distance provides a magnificent backdrop for your wedding photos at The Moat House. And then there is the manor house itself which is believed to date back to around 1300’s.

As well as all the locations within the grounds of the Moat House we can use for your wedding photographs there is also a couple of good spots I know within a couple of minutes walk, often I’ll make use of this location in the evening when the guests are checking into their rooms.
