Katy and Gary’s destination wedding in Menorca

2018  has been one of my busiest years but also one of the most exciting. Not only have I had lots of weddings at my favourite local venues but also two great destination weddings. At the start of an crazy summer I was fortunate enough to photograph Natasha and TJ’s wedding in France. And then at the end of the summer I was blessed with photographing Katy and Gary’s amazing wedding in Menorca.

The couple had chosen to host their wedding at Binifadet vineyard, located in Sant Lluis.

On the morning of the wedding the guys picked me up and we headed over to the venue as they made some final preparations. It was then over to Hotel Santo Tomas where Katy where was getting ready with her mum and bridesmaid.

The hotel had a wonderful view overlooking the sea which provided a calming setting as Katy prepared to get married.

Binifadet wedding ceremony

One Katy was inherited dress it was time for me to head over to the venue in preparation of the wedding ceremony. The ceremony was held in a small clearing surrounded by olive trees, what an idyllic location for Katy and Gary to exchange marriage vows. After the ceremony guests er free to mingle and enjoy the absolutely amazing wines the venue had to offer.

Katy and Gary enjoyed spending quality time with their family and friends and loved every bit of their reception. After catching up with all their guests it was time for us to get amongst the vines for their wedding photos. There were some great spots and backdrops for couples photos. Even although the sun was strong it was a great location.

I always enjoy photographing the speeches, they can be one of the highlights of the day. Capturing the reaction of the guests as well as the emotion of the speakers really helps to tell the story.

Following the cake cutting it was time to begin the evening celebrations. Lets just say this was one hell of a party with a brilliant DJ busting out the dance classics. It certainly wasn’t your usual wedding music but lets be honest, you don’t get married in a vineyard in Menorca if you want “usual”!
